~ SACRAMENTO - In a move to support communities affected by recent fires, Governor Gavin Newsom has declared states of emergency for the City of Oceanside, Siskiyou County, and Sierra County. These proclamations will allow the impacted areas to access resources under the California Disaster Assistance Act.
The Pier Fire in Oceanside, the Shelly Fire in Siskiyou County, and the Bear Fire in Sierra County have all caused significant damage and displacement for residents. The emergency proclamations will provide much-needed aid to these communities as they work towards recovery.
Governor Newsom's office has released the text of each emergency proclamation, which can be found on their website. The proclamations also enable the impacted city and counties to seek resources from other provisions.
