EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. - Californer -- After 30 years in entertainment, Jon Robert Quinn has owned his share of memorable automobiles, including Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, BMW, Harley-Davidson motorcycles and his prized Ford Mustang Bullitt. But today, in his mid-40s, Quinn has traded the sportscars and motorcycles for something he never expected to become one of his favorite vehicles: a 2025 Buick Envista Avenir.

The story began with an Instagram post comparing the Envista to the Mercedes-Benz GLC300 Coupe. Quinn initially found the comparison amusing, but curiosity led him to research the vehicle, read professional reviews and eventually schedule a test drive.

"I loved it. I loved everything about it," Quinn says. "But I was still skeptical."

Rather than immediately buying one, Quinn waited approximately a month and drove it again.

"I loved it again."

Several months later, he decided it was time to trade his Mercedes E350. The Envista had made enough of an impression that the decision became surprisingly easy.

More than a year and approximately 29,000 miles later, Quinn says he has never regretted the decision.

"It's probably one of my favorite cars I've ever owned, both to own and to drive," he says.

Much of the appeal comes from the Envista Avenir's combination of style, comfort and practicality. Quinn drives extensively for business, entertainment and media, making fuel efficiency important. He also appreciates the vehicle's upscale interior and genuine leather seating.

But perhaps the biggest surprise has been the performance of Buick's turbocharged three-cylinder engine.

"It absolutely does not feel like a front-wheel-drive three-cylinder," Quinn says. "Buick really has something with this little engine."

The Envista has also proven itself on the road. Quinn has driven it to Monterey Car Week twice, bringing guests on both trips. He says the vehicle handled the trips comfortably, and his passengers were consistently impressed with both its comfort and performance.

"I like how elegant it is without having the European car tax," he says.

That philosophy represents a change in Quinn's automotive priorities. After decades of owning performance and luxury vehicles, he says he no longer needs a car simply because of its badge or price. He wants something that looks good, drives well, is comfortable, economical and makes sense for his lifestyle.

The Buick Envista Avenir unexpectedly checked all of those boxes.

After more than a year behind the wheel, his assessment remains straightforward.

"I love it as much as the day I bought it."

For someone with three decades of experience in entertainment and a garage history that includes some of the world's most recognizable automotive brands, Quinn's endorsement of the Buick Envista Avenir may be unexpected.
