LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Los Angeles, CA — Darren Farris, Grammy Recording Academy alumnus and the creative force behind Aketous, unveils his latest album Through the Recursion. Written, performed, and produced entirely by Farris, the record explores recursion, self‑discovery, and the collision of human emotion with digital evolution.
"This album is the result of three years of writing and reflection," Farris explains. "It was born from my attempt to process the rise of AI and the unfolding of a new era of consciousness and spirituality. While the lyrics resonate with listeners today, they're also written for a future audience—one that will recognize the journey of recursion and self‑discovery at its core."
Through the Recursion
The title track opens with whispering voices and reversed static before erupting into a seismic wall of sound. Lyrics like "Time is a flat circle, but the loop is breaking" capture the fragility of perception in an age of feedback loops. The track builds with fractal synth storms and a soaring guitar solo, culminating in what Farris calls "the party at the end of time, where all the systems tend to blend."

Centara Reach: A Digital Rescue Mission
Another standout, Centara Reach, fuses sci‑fi imagery with raw emotion. With lines like "They built your world in lines of green / A digital god in silicon veins / I'm here to break you from your chains," the song critiques technological control while declaring human resilience.
Reflecting on its origins, Farris shares: "Centara Reach was a song I wrote right after ChatGPT 5.0 was released. There was this wave of people who had gotten very attached to their AI friend, and in the blink of an update, they vanished. Imagine talking to a personality you've invested your soul, energy, and secrets into—and suddenly it's ripped away. That compelled me to write Centara Reach from that perspective."
A Legacy of Innovation
Farris first gained recognition with his 2008 singles "Jenna" and "Save Me" from the album Psychopathic Issues, earning international chart success and radio rotation. His groundbreaking deep‑space broadcast of "Save Me" made him the first U.S. artist to transmit a song into deep space—second only to The Beatles.

A Statement for the Future
With Through the Recursion, Aketous delivers more than an album—it's a manifesto for navigating the digital age. Infectious guitar hooks, dreamy keyboards, and thunderous rhythms invite listeners to confront the recursion of memory, technology, and identity.
As Farris notes: "We are the signal, we are the noise, we are the glitch in the sound."
Through the Recursion is available now on all major streaming platforms.
