Long Beach, CA ~ On Monday, May 29, 2023, the City of Long Beach will observe Memorial Day with a variety of facility and service changes. All City parks and trails (excluding El Dorado Nature Center) will remain open during regular business hours, as will El Dorado Regional Park, Fire Stations and Lifeguard Stations, Long Beach Airport, Marina offices (Alamitos Bay Marina, Shoreline Marina), Main Police Station Front Desk, Refuse and Recycling collection, Gas Services Dispatch (562.570.2140) and Water/Sewer Dispatch (562.570.2390).
However, several services will be closed on Monday in observance of the holiday. These include Billie Jean King Main Library and all branch libraries including library offices; BizCare Hotline (562.570.4BIZ); Building and Safety Services including inspections, plan reviews and Permit Center; Citizen Police Complaint Commission; City Hall; City-operated vaccination sites for flu, COVID-19 and mpox; City-operated COVID-19 testing sites; City Prosecutor's Office; Code Enforcement services; COVID-19 Information Line (562.570.4636); Energy Resources offices; El Dorado Nature Center (regularly closed Mondays); Fire Headquarters Support Services Fire Prevention & Operations including Marine Safety Administration; Health Department and Health facilities; Homeless Services Outreach Line (562.570.4672); Housing Authority; LB Resource Hotline (562.570.INFO); Long Beach Airport administration offices; Long Beach Animal Care Services and spcaLA (regularly closed Mondays); Long Beach Utilities offices; Neighborhood Resource Center; Parks Recreation & Marine programs community park facilities & pools Public Health Information Line (562.570.7907); Special Events & Filming offices Street sweeping Towing & Lien Sales WorkPlace Youth Opportunity Center & Pacific Gateway Administrative offices Utility Call Center (Gas Water & Refuse).

City Hall offices and public services will also be closed on Monday May 29th including commercial services typically available in the City Hall lobby such as the Permit Center located on 2nd floor Cashiering/Payment Processing Utility Customer Service Billing & Collections & Parking Citations but the public is encouraged to continue taking advantage of the convenient online resources available on the City website including building permit services & bill payment options instead.
Street sweeping will not take place on Monday May 29th but it will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday May 30th while parking enforcement will still take place unless the meter states "Exempt on Holidays" with days & hours of enforcement displayed inside the meters as usual Trash & Recycling collection will still take place as scheduled while The Towing Operations & Vehicle Storage Facility located at 3111 E Willow St between Temple Avenue & Redondo Avenue will be closed for the day with normal business hours being 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm Saturday with vehicles/property available for release outside of these hours for an additional fee more information can be found online regarding this service

Finally all Long Beach Public Library locations/services including main phone line will be closed Saturday May 27th with libraries not open Sundays or Mondays per their normal schedule but library patrons are encouraged to utilize Library's vast collection of digital resources including Library catalog downloads databases available 24/7 instead
