~ Long Beach, CA - Acting City Health Officer Dr. Cliff Okada has taken precautionary measures by issuing a rain advisory for recreational beaches and bays in the City of Long Beach. This decision comes after the city experienced heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours.

According to Dr. Okada, the increased runoff from storm drain outlets and rivers due to the rain can lead to unhealthy conditions at the city's beaches. As a result, he advises that recreational swimming areas should be avoided for at least three days following the end of a rainstorm.
