LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Forty-two percent of Los Angeles-area hotels that state a pet policy on their own website allow pets, according to Pet Policies Across LA Hotels, a report released today by Journeyed, an independent guide to the details of every hotel in the Los Angeles area.
Journeyed read the official websites of hotels across the Los Angeles market and recorded what each one states about the stay, with the source page and the date it was checked. Of 2,610 hotels in the area, 214 state a pet policy.
Key findings:
- 42% of LA hotels that state a pet policy allow pets (90 of 214). 47% do not, and 11% take service animals only.
- 46 hotels state a pet fee. The median is $100, the middle half runs from $50 to $150 and the range is $25 to $350.

- 29 of the 42 hotels that say how the fee is charged (69%) charge it once per stay.
- 36 hotels state a weight limit. The median is 40 pounds.
- 8 of 9 hotels stating a policy in West Hollywood allow pets (89%) and 1 of 16 in Anaheim does (6%).
Every figure counts only what a hotel states on its own website, in plain text, on a page that was read and dated. Hotels that say nothing are not counted as allowing or refusing pets. The method, hotel-by-hotel list with source links and a CSV download are at https://journeyed.org/reports/la-hotel-pet-policies/
