Stated resort fees at Los Angeles-area hotels run from $3 to $125 a day. Only 7% of the 453 LA hotel websites Journeyed could read say anything about a resort fee, either a fee or no fee.
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- The median stated resort fee at Los Angeles-area hotels is $35 a day, according to Resort and Destination Fees at LA Hotels, a report released today by Journeyed, an independent guide to the details of every hotel in the Los Angeles area.
Journeyed read the official websites of hotels across the Los Angeles market and recorded what each one states about the stay, with the source page and the date it was checked. Of 453 websites where at least one detail was read, 32 state a resort, destination or amenity fee policy: 28 state a daily amount and 4 say they charge none.
Key findings:
- The median stated resort fee is $35 a day (28 hotels). The middle half runs $25 to $45 and the range is $3 to $125.

- Of the 22 hotels that list what their fee includes, 17 (77%) name Wi-Fi, 14 (64%) name coffee and 10 (45%) name a fitness center.

Every figure counts only what a hotel states on its own website, in plain text, on a page that was read and dated. Hotels that say nothing are not counted as charging a fee or as charging none.
