The GridSignal X-Ray Report shows data center operators how much advance warning they could have before power spikes — using their own historical data.

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. - Californer -- GridSignal, a power orchestration software company for AI-era data centers, today announced the launch of the GridSignal X-Ray Report, a free diagnostic that measures how much advance warning a data center's own job scheduler already had before historical power spikes — and what that unused warning cost in reserved capacity and demand charges.

Power demand held roughly flat for decades. The rise of large-scale AI workloads has broken that pattern, creating sudden, high-magnitude power draws that data center operators are often unable to anticipate — even though the signal frequently already exists in their own scheduler logs.

"The warning is already there, it's just invisible," said Laura Lilyquist, co-founder and CEO of GridSignal. "The X-Ray Report gives data center teams an actionable, evidence-based view of their own headroom, peak patterns, and approaching spikes — computed entirely from data they already have."

The X-Ray Report is a one-time, no-integration process. Operators securely submit 90 days of their own historical scheduler and power data; GridSignal computes six figures — including lead-time opportunity, capacity utilization, peak events, demand-charge ratchet risk, and the company's headline metric, recoverable stranded capacity — and returns a report carefully reviewed by an expert analyst before delivery.

"This is a measurement of what a data center already did — not a forecast, and not a comparison to other operators," Lilyquist said. "Every formula, constant, and exclusion is written out so a customer's own engineers can check the arithmetic."

"We're closing a visibility gap using our proprietary algorithms," said Lloyd Spencer, co-founder and CTO of GridSignal. "The scheduler already knows a spike is coming. The X-Ray Report is the first time most operators will see that signal laid out next to their actual power draw."

GridSignal was founded in July 2026 by Lilyquist and Spencer, who together bring a combined six decades of enterprise technology experience, including senior roles at Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, Symantec, VMware, Newbridge Networks, and a group of early stage companies. Both come to GridSignal with backgrounds in renewable energy and data centers.
