Popular tourist destinations around Europe are doing their best to minimize the coronavirus infection risk and to regain the trust of visitors.
DEVENTER, Netherlands - Californer -- The ongoing coronavirus situation does not make travelling around Europe impossible. Popular tourist destinations around Europe are doing their best to minimize the coronavirus infection risk and to regain the trust of visitors. As shown in the study performed by Lastminutes.deals, some places are already relatively safe to visit. Where to spend safe vacations around Europe in 2020?
The tourist industry is still trying to recover from the coronavirus crisis. While vast parts of the tourist network are still locked due to the coronavirus pandemic, Europe is slowly opening for visitors.
"Many European countries are opening their borders and flights and hotels are also reopening now", claims the European Best Destinations Organization (EBD).

Both the local government and hotel owners are working hand in hand to provide tourists with proper conditions for a safe stay.
Countermeasures to mitigate coronavirus
The most visible rules introduced by the governments of tourist destinations are those you can see in most cities around Europe – mandatory mask order, social distancing and disinfectants distributed at the entrance to each shop, restaurant and other public places. Furthermore, in most tourist destinations, municipal services disinfect sunbeds, railings and, in some cases, even streets or famous monuments.
Other countermeasures against coronavirus in mass tourism include limits to how many people can gather in one place – including beaches. In Greece, this amounts to 40 people per 1,000 square meters, and umbrella poles need to be placed 4 meters apart, while canopies can be no closer than a meter apart. Additionally, hotel air conditioning filters are changed after each traveller's stay.
