Visitors will get a behind-the-scenes tour at one of the region's premier wholesale nurseries.
VENTURA, Calif. - Californer -- Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture (SEEAG) is hosting a free, family-friendly "Farm Day Every Day" tour at Otto & Sons Nursery in Fillmore, Saturday, June 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Visitors will get a behind-the-scenes tour at one of the region's premier wholesale nurseries.
For more than 50 years, Otto & Sons Nursery has been growing hundreds of varieties of roses, perennials, edibles, and fruit trees for garden centers, landscapers and homeowners.
Guests will take a guided one-mile walking tour through the nursery and its 1.3-acre display garden. Along the way, participants will learn how roses and other plants are propagated, grown, harvested, marketed, and distributed. The tour will also explore the important role that water, soil health, and nursery management practices play in producing healthy plants.

"Come with questions about roses, flowering and vegetable plants, and fruit, citrus and avocado trees," says Caitlin Paulus Case, SEEAG executive director. "Ottos & Sons staff will provide the soil and water management information you need for a healthy garden and landscape."
Throughout the year, SEEAG offers free Farm Day Every Day tours of local growers in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. These events are part of SEEAG's ongoing mission to connect students, families, and community members to the people, places, and practices behind our food system. "Our farmers love to share their expertise with the public," says Case. "We thank Otto & Sons Nursery for its generosity and for giving everyone the opportunity to learn directly from the experts."
Ticket registration will open on Friday, June 19th at 10:00 a.m. To register and learn more about the tour and future Farm Day Every Day events, go to https://www.seeag.org/farm-day-every-day.
