The San Francisco Bay artist wears her heart on her sleeve with this latest collection of empowering and driving tracks delivered by seasoned music veterans

SAN FRANCISCO - Californer -- Linda Imperial, a true survivor whose life and decades-long musical career have been a whirlwind roller coaster of highs, lows, and dark struggles followed by shining through redemption, showcases the blues-rock side of her artistry like never before with the new EP Heart Rock.

The deeply soulful, five-song set was produced by Joel Jaffe whose all-star credits include Ringo Starr, Bonnie Raitt, and Huey Lewis and The News.  The powerhouse ensemble includes Jaffe on guitar, bassist Marc Levine (Johnny Rivers, Bette Midler, Gerry Mulligan), keyboardist/organist Eammon Flynn (The Commitments, Elvin Bishop, Taj Mahal), drummer Kevin Hayes (Robert Cray Band, Van Morrison, John Lee Hooker), Saxophonist George Brooks (Etta James, Otis Rush, Albert Collins, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown) and singers Jeannie Tracy (Sylvester) and Omega Rae. The set features the blistering and ultimately hopeful recent single "My Heart Rocks." "it's a positive song that tells people that no matter what we go through, we can move on and have fun, so enjoy the ride. All the songs on the Heart Rock EP tap into that theme in one way or another." Says Linda. Also included is "I Found Me," a self-empowerment anthem, "You're A Fake," a pointed takedown of the music industry, the romantic gem "Just Right," a lively, grooving rocker dedicated to her husband and rock legend David Freiberg, and the crackling blues/rock closing track "The Storm is Over" that reflects on the heartache and struggles she's been through in her life.
