AESA and Hye Rise Investments Will Be Strategic Partners for Hero House
GLENDALE, Calif. - Californer -- On Tuesday, May 19, 2020, the Glendale City Council voted to contract with Hero House Glendale for a Start-Up Tech Accelerator in Glendale, which will be established by SmartGateVC, a pre-seed venture capital fund. Hye Rise Investments and Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America (AESA) join the initiative as the strategic partners of Hero House Glendale.
Hero House Glendale will commence its operations with the launch of Gateway to LA (G2LA) - a 3-month accelerator program targeting overseas start-ups and serving as a gateway for them to expand operations to Southern California and the wider US market, while leveraging the business development talent and opportunities in the LA area. SmartGateVC won a $500K award from the City of Glendale for the launch.

As part of Glendale Tech Strategy, the City of Glendale has worked diligently to develop the accelerator program to further help the city's start-up culture grow, and to promote a science and technology ecosystem in a region that already has numerous successful tech start-ups. Hero House Glendale aims to serve the naturally expanding needs of Glendale and the surrounding areas and become a significant player within the new paradigm.
"Although Hero House Glendale starts with a start-up program for international founders, it's a complex and multi-layered project with many partners and stakeholders involved. Our vision is to become one of the top tech hubs in Los Angeles during the next 3-5 years. Let the fun begin," said Hambardzum Kaghketsyan, Partner at SmartGateVC.
Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America (AESA), a non-profit organization headquartered in Glendale, will be hosted at Hero House Glendale and will play a key role in the activities aiming to unleash and consolidate Armenian scientific and technological potential in the US. In addition, AESA will be a key partner in working with youth and students from Glendale and the surrounding regions in order to promote technology and make it part of Glendale's DNA.
