LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Travelers looking for exceptional savings on international trips have two unusual opportunities to consider this month, according to the Thrifty Senior Traveler: a 2-for-1 Antarctica expedition and select seven-day Danube Christmas Markets cruises priced at just $995 per person.

Jesse Slome, creator of the Thrifty Senior Traveler, featured both offers in the latest edition of his Senior Travel Deals video.

2-for-1 Antarctica Expedition

Overseas Adventure Travel is currently offering a 2-for-1 price on a 13-day Antarctica premium cruise departing December 4.

Slome has firsthand experience with the trip, having taken the same Antarctica expedition earlier this year.

"It truly was one of those trips of a lifetime," said Slome. "I've traveled to all seven continents, and Antarctica is one of those destinations that is difficult to describe until you've actually been there."

The expedition offer is available through Overseas Adventure Travel's Special Offers section. Slome recommends that interested travelers check current availability rather than assuming the promotional pricing will remain available.

Seven-Day Danube Christmas Markets Cruise for $995

A second deal highlighted by Slome is a seven-day Christmas Markets cruise along the Danube River through Germany and Austria.

Grand Circle Travel has reduced the price on select mid-December departures from $3,195 to $995 per person.

The cruise visits five Christmas markets during the seven-day itinerary and operates aboard a privately owned river ship.

An Additional $100 Per Person Savings

Slome also points out that first-time travelers booking with either Overseas Adventure Travel or Grand Circle Travel may be eligible for an additional $100 per person savings by providing his referral information.

Travelers can ask about the referral offer and provide the referral code 932019 when booking.

"I love finding these kinds of deals and sharing them with other travelers," said Slome. "I'm not selling travel. I'm simply looking for opportunities where the price makes me stop and say, 'Wow.' These two certainly did."

The latest Senior Travel Deals video provides details about both offers and directs viewers to the respective travel companies for current availability and booking information.
