VCPWA Encourages El Rio Residents to Fill Out Survey for Essential Community Projects

OXNARD, Calif. - Californer -- The Ventura County Public Works Agency, Roads & Transportation (VCPWA-RT), which is responsible for maintaining roadways and safety within the county road right-of-way, needs feedback from the El Rio community to secure Active Transportation Program funding from the State of California.

These funds support projects that encourage active transportation which includes biking, walking, and safe access to public transportation (buses and trains), sidewalks for safer walking and biking as well as to build facilities that reduce greenhouse gases.

A survey is available both by mail and online for the EL Rio community to provide their feedback. The more responses received, the better chance VCPWA-RT has at securing the grant and starting on important safety projects.

"We are always striving to build innovative projects" said Glenn Derossett, VCPWA-RT's Engineering Manager.  "With the help of grant funding from the State of California and supporting feedback, we can continue to make our community not only better but safer for our residents.  

Responses are needed by August 19^th, 2020. To access the survey, El Rio residents will receive a flyer in the mail to fill out, or find the survey online by visiting the www.vcpublicworks.org/elrio/.
