VENTURA, Calif. - Californer -- The California Strawberry Festival unveiled its official poster design for this year's 40th annual festival, taking place May 16 and 17 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.
Artist and designer Dayvid Iannaci was commissioned to create the artwork. "Since we are celebrating our 40-year anniversary, the festival board decided to have a professional creator design the commemorative artwork," says Greg Berini, festival chair. "The finished design captures the look and feel of Ventura County's proud strawberry agricultural heritage. It will be sure to become a collector's item."
The poster features a vast strawberry field, with panoramic ocean and mountain views in the background.
A limited number of posters will be available during the festival, with Iannaci on hand on Sunday, May 17, beginning at 1:30 p.m. to autograph his artwork. Iannaci is the founder and creative director of the award-winning Ghost Agency, the agency of record for IN-N-OUT Burger since 2009.
The festival will have over 50 food and beverage vendors serving a variety of treats, including strawberry-themed nachos, chocolate-dipped strawberries, strawberry funnel cakes, strawberry tamales, strawberry kabobs, strawberry popcorn, and strawberry smoothies, margaritas and beer. It will also feature nearly 150 artists and crafters (many with strawberry designs), live entertainment, a Strawberryland for Kids, carnival rides, and a "build-your-own" strawberry shortcake at the "Strawberry Shortcake Experience."

Festival hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. both days. General admission is $15; active military with ID, family, and seniors 62 and over are $10; youth ages 5 to 12 are $8; and children 4 and under are free. Limited parking onsite is $30 per vehicle.
Visitors are encouraged to use the free shuttle service at the 6 locations nearby or the discounted Amtrak service (with a station across the street from the fairgrounds). For more information and to purchase tickets, go to www.CAStrawberryFestival.org.
