SAN FRANCISCO and BEVERLY, Mass., Oct. 3, 2024 ~ A new partnership has been announced between Alife Health and Hamilton Thorne, Inc. to advance in-vitro fertilization (IVF) technology in the United States. Alife Health, a leading technology company specializing in AI tools for IVF, will be teaming up with Hamilton Thorne, a manufacturer and marketer of precision laser systems and imaging systems for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) and Developmental Biology Research markets.
Through this partnership, Alife's Embryo Assist software will now be available on Hamilton Thorne's laser systems. This will allow embryologists to easily create digital records of each embryo and utilize Alife's Clinical Decision Support (CDS) algorithm to determine the best embryo for transfer. As part of the collaboration, all US-based Hamilton Thorne clients will receive a three-month trial of the Embryo Assist technology.
Catherine Welch, VP of Clinical Sales & Customer Success (Americas) for Hamilton Thorne, expressed excitement about the partnership stating, "Hamilton Thorne is dedicated to leveraging cutting-edge industry expertise to continually enhance our comprehensive suite of products and services. We prioritize partnerships with forward-thinking companies and top industry experts to collaborate on ways to expand customer-centric solutions that bring innovations to life."

The Embryo Assist software is a microscope-integrated tool that allows embryologists to easily capture images and data of embryos, improving laboratory quality-control measures. The software also features an AI embryo ranking feature based on CDS technology which utilizes machine learning to help embryologists determine which embryos have the highest likelihood of success. Alife's scientific abstract regarding the CDS model has been nominated for an award and demonstrates non-inferior performance compared to manual embryo grading by highly experienced embryologists. This indicates that the tool can offer laboratories a new level of standardization for embryo selection.
Melissa Teran, COO and Head of Product for Alife Health, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, "At Alife, we value the opportunity to partner with industry leaders with a demonstrated history of excellence in reproductive medicine. We are thrilled to partner with Hamilton Thorne to advance our mutual goal of using technology to provide the most effective care for individuals seeking to grow their family."
