Luna Select Market opens with a mission to bring thoughtful, everyday home essentials to shoppers — built by a founder who calls it proof that a second chance can start later than planned.

LOS ANGELES - Californer -- LOS ANGELES, CA — Jonine Scott, 70, has launched Luna Select Market (lunaselectmarket.com), a new online store offering curated home organization, kitchen, and smart-home essentials, roughly two years after a sudden medical crisis left her unable to walk.

Scott's ordeal began with a diagnosis of severely low potassium, which progressed into extreme peripheral nerve damage. The condition confined her to a wheelchair for the better part of a year, stripping away basic independence and forcing a long, uncertain road to recovery through physical therapy and sheer persistence.

"I know exactly what it costs to lose the ability to simply stand up and walk across a room," Scott said. "I didn't wait until I felt fully recovered to start this store, because I'm not sure that day was ever going to arrive on its own. I started once I had enough strength back to try."

Now walking again, Scott opened Luna Select Market last month, choosing every product in the store's early catalog personally. The site focuses on practical, well-chosen items for organizing, simplifying, and improving everyday home life — a business built, she says, not as a return to who she was before her health crisis, but as a step toward who she wants to be next.

Scott has also been documenting her recovery and the store's launch in a series of personal essays published on Medium, where she writes candidly about aging, resilience, and what she calls "starting forward" rather than starting over.

"A second wind doesn't ask your permission or check your birth certificate," Scott said. "It shows up when you're ready to let it — even if 'ready' looks like relearning how to stand before you can decide what to build next."

Luna Select Market is currently open for business at lunaselectmarket.com, offering free U.S. shipping on all orders.
