Program kicks off September 15, 2026, pairing rising women leaders with an expert faculty of governance, finance, and executive leaders to prepare them for board service.
SAN FRANCISCO - Californer -- Today, Light the Way announced that applications are open for the Fall 2026 cohort of Board of AdviseHERS, its signature program preparing accomplished women for board service. The program begins September 15, 2026, and will once again connect participants with a faculty of seasoned executives, governance experts, and board veterans who bring real-world experience directly into the curriculum.
Faculty AdviseHERS include Yvonne Wassenaar, Singer Lewak Partners, Suzie Doran and Amanda Schlank, Nicole Alos, Jill Baldauf, Sandra K. Howe, Alyce Blum, and Board of AdviseHERS' co-creators, Samantha Carroll and Annette Blum Pearson.
Board of AdviseHERS' live, cohort-based experience closes the gap between professional accomplishment and board readiness. Through hands-on curriculum, participants learn how board opportunities are sourced and secured, build governance and financial literacy, refine their personal board narrative and candidate materials, and practice through a simulated board interview — all while building relationships with faculty and fellow AdviseHERS that extend well beyond the program itself.

"Every cohort reminds me why this work matters," said Samantha Carroll. "These are women who already have the judgment and experience boards need — they are leaders at global companies, but what they've been missing is the roadmap and the sounding board. We built Board of AdviseHERS to be both."
"Governance is stronger when the people around the table have different vantage points," said Annette Blum Pearson. "Bringing this caliber of faculty into the room means our AdviseHERS aren't just learning about board service secondhand — they're learning directly from women who've navigated undefined routes and shaped spaces by bringing new perspectives into the conversation.."
Applications for the Fall 2026 cohort are open now, with the program beginning September 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. PT / 2:00 p.m. ET. Space is limited to preserve the program's small-group, high-touch format.
