Celebrated Recording Artist Syreeta Thompson Launches 'Legacy in Motion' On August 14

LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Celebrated trumpeter, recording artist, educator and music education advocate Syreeta Thompson, widely known as "The Trumpet Lady," announces the release of her new album, "Legacy in Motion", arriving August 14.

The lead single on the album is Thompson's new rendition of "Drive My Car," the classic hit song recorded by The Beatles. Thompson transforms the hit record bringing her signature trumpet sound, vocals and arranging to the track. The result reflects the very spirit of "Legacy in Motion" honoring a classic hit with her own style and interpretation.

Syreeta Thompson is an American trumpeter, arranger and artist who has performed around the world. Thompson gained national recognition with her sophomore project, "Winner", which became  a career milestone, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Jazz and Gospel charts. In alignment with its title, "Winner" stayed at the top of the charts for more than six months. Now with her new album release, "Legacy in Motion", Thompson brings the full range of her artistry together, stepping forward as both trumpeter and vocalist on a collection of songs that combine pop, jazz, and contemporary influences.
