Las Vegas singer-songwriter marks a 40-year musical journey with her debut single and introduces "Unfinished Business: 12 Songs for the 12 Steps of Recovery."
LAS VEGAS - Californer -- DreamMakers Enterprises LLC announces the worldwide release of singer-songwriter Paula Josephine Sadler's debut single, "Imagine," her interpretation of the John Lennon and Yoko Ono classic.
Released today across major digital music platforms, the single marks a deeply personal milestone: Sadler's 24th anniversary of sobriety.
"Imagine" introduces her forthcoming concept album, Unfinished Business: 12 Songs for the 12 Steps of Recovery, with the theme: One Journey. Twelve Songs. Infinite Hope.
Recorded at Audio Arts Las Vegas on July 6, 2020, "Imagine" was also the first song Sadler learned to play on piano when she began her journey back to music in 2016.
"I hear Imagine as a prayer, a poem and an affirmation," Sadler says. "More than half a century after it was released, we still desperately need its message of peace."
Sadler chose "Imagine" to symbolize Step Twelve, representing the movement from personal transformation toward carrying hope, healing and service into the world.

Sober since Aug. 18, 2002 through a 12-Step program of recovery, Sadler says, "Recovery taught me that healing isn't something we keep for ourselves. When one life is transformed, hope can ripple outward into families, communities and ultimately the world."
Sadler's musical journey began in 1986 at Andasol Elementary School in Los Angeles, followed by seven years of choir and three years of jazz vocal groups. She attended the Van Nuys High School Performing Arts Magnet and performed with its Vannaires jazz group. In 1991, she appeared in Peace Child Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium, including a featured part in "I Don't Wanna Feel."
After moving to Southern Nevada, she performed with Green Valley High School's Concert Choir and Fusion jazz group and participated in the 1994 Jackson Family Honors at the MGM Grand. Her later credits include Ocean's Eleven, The Las Vegas Lounge and The Vagina Monologues.
Her influences and mentors span Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday to teachers Linda Abbott, Linda Blackwell, Kim Barclay, vocal coach David London, piano teacher and mentor Cynthia Harris, and friend and mentor Teri Noel.

An author, entrepreneur and community advocate, her books include The Nature of Miracles and The Garden and the Flame. Her community work includes the LOV8U Foundation and Historic Commercial Center District.
"As a woman and transgender artist, I know that I belong. My voice and my life matter," Sadler says. "Most of all, I thank God for giving me a voice."
