November 9-15, 2025 ~ Theme: Focusing on Hope and Positive Action
SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Californer -- This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Orangutan Caring Week—a time to reflect on two decades of raising awareness, inspiring compassion, and supporting action for orangutans and their rainforest homes. Our 2025 theme, "Focusing on Hope and Positive Action", reminds us that while hope is essential, it is action that creates lasting change.
Hope motivates us to imagine a future where orangutans thrive in safe, healthy forests. Positive action—whether through education, conservation, advocacy, community engagement, or financial support—turns that vision into reality. Together, hope and action are powerful forces for protecting orangutans, safeguarding biodiversity, and ensuring a healthier planet for us all.
"Hope is about action. It is about the fact that everyone can do something to make a better world." – Jane Goodall

To mark this milestone year, Orangutan Caring will share stories of hope, celebrate conservation successes, and highlight organizations working tirelessly to save, protect, and care for orangutans. Individuals and organizations around the world will join in through events, education, and social media campaigns that inspire compassion and action.
As part of the celebration, there will be a social media campaign "7 Days of Why We Should Care About Orangutans" which explores why orangutans matter—and how caring leads to action. A "Caption This Photo" contest also adds a fun way for participants to engage and win meaningful prizes that support orangutan conservation.
We invite media outlets and organizations to help spread awareness by sharing this important global event. For more information, resources, and ways to get involved, contact us, visit orangutancaring.org and follow us on social media.
