The program was launched in September 2024 with a $500,000 grant from the State of California through California Volunteers, Office of the Governor. The goal is to expand volunteer infrastructure in California and strengthen the statewide Neighbor-to-Neighbor network by recruiting, training, equipping, and organizing neighbors to address community needs.
