Los Angeles EDM musician releases 'Automatic' ahead of Pride Month
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Tyler Garrett is treating fans to a new dance track that breaks new ground for the emerging EDM artist.
"Automatic" marks the artist's third release of this year. The upbeat track is being unveiled ahead of Pride Month as a way to celebrate LGBTQ pride.
In February, Garrett released "Complications," created with his friend Stevie Storch. son of legendary producer Scott Storch. He then went on to release the sad-pop song "Slowly Drowning" in March to showcase a different side of his vocals and style.
Automatic represents Garrett's evolution as he expands beyond the EDM genre by incorporating other musical influences.
"My hope is to create music inspired by many different things," he said. "I released Automatic to show my listeners that I am evolving in my sound and taking risks."
Automatic was written by Garrett and produced by longtime collaborator Jonathan Borsis at AFTRMKT studios in Tarzana. It was mixed by Borsis and mastered by Chris Guilano.

"The song starts with a simple baseline, which prompted me to start writing the lyrics that came into my head," Garrett said. "It started simply with a lyric of 'love the way you make me feel,' and everything just started flowing."
Borsis added old school dance music vibes with instrumentals while Garrett worked through the rest of the lyrics. The final result is a dance track with broken beats and old school sounds.
"This song to me, is a journey of a love," Garrett said. "The lyrics talk about how we can be robotic and automatically get caught in the same things over and over. It's up to us to break the cycle if we want to evolve."
Later this year, Garrett plans to release more collaborations with LA dance music producers.
"My focus is to take over the dance floor," Garrett said. "I want to have my vocals playing everywhere around the world."
"Automatic" is Garrett's third release this year. To date, he has recorded more than 200 songs with Borsis in addition to collaborating with artists like British duo Siskiyou ("When the Tide Comes") and EDM artist Jeriqo. His collaboration with Jeriqo, "You Have Me," has been streamed more than a million times.
