HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Californer -- "Dark Classics" has the great honor of being an Official Selection of the 2019 Huntington Beach Film Festival. "Dark Classics" will be screened in the local filmmakers block on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 5:00 PM. The short film will be presented at the Huntington Beach High School Historic Theater at 1905 Main St, Huntington Beach, CA 92648.
Director Craig Railsback filmed actress Dawna Lee Heising performing the Act 5, Scene 1 monologue by Lady Macbeth from Shakespeare's classic play "Macbeth" for the dramatic short film "Dark Classics". Heising's performance as Lady Macbeth was originally directed by Railsback as part of filmmaker Brian Barsuglia's 2019 documentary "A Bard for the Ages: Shakespeare's Timeless Effect", and was later released as "Dark Classics". "Dark Classics" was edited by Dr. Renah Wolzinger, and produced by Heising, Railsback, Dr. Wolzinger, Keith Wolzinger, Dan Kennedy and Sean Glumace. Dr. Wolzinger is the CEO of Renzone Music, and Railsback is the CEO of Railsback Productions. The "Dark Classics" poster is by Gaz Jackson.

Heising trained for her performance with actress, musician and playwright Karole Foreman, who is an expert on Shakespeare and recently wrote the musical "Rule My World", based on Shakespeare's "Antony and Cleopatra". Heising is playing Misery in filmmaker Param Gill's "Bad President", alongside Eddie Griffin, Robert Amico and Emmy and Golden Globe-winner Justin Shenkarow. She will also reprise her role as Skye in John Reign's big-budget "Finding Purpose 2", following the critically acclaimed release of the heartwarming war film "Finding Purpose" from Polestar Studios. Since 2005, the Huntington Beach Film Festival (formerly the SoCal Film Festival) has been bringing the best of independent film to the wonderful Huntington Beach community, with the goal of promoting diversity, tolerance and understanding.
