LAWNDALE, CA – April 23, 2025 – The Department of Justice has released a previously sealed document concerning the dismissal of charges against MEDICAL LEGAL EVALUATORS and SAFETY WORKS, companies owned by Dr. Stephen Andrew Stepaniuk. It is important to clarify that Dr. Stepaniuk was mistakenly identified as being associated with competitor companies, ExamWorks and Medical Legal Experts.
The document, a Judgement of Dismissal issued by the United States District Court, confirms that the Court granted the government's motion to dismiss without prejudice the offenses as charged in the Indictment against Dr. Stepaniuk.
