The built-to-order tower pairs AMD Ryzen and Radeon graphics with tempered glass, ARGB lighting and Bazzite's Steam Gaming Mode, plus a word on the publishers who still lock Linux players out.

CAMPBELL, Calif. - Californer -- eRacks Open Source Systems today launched eRacks/GAMER, a Linux-first gaming desktop built to order. It ships with Bazzite, a Fedora-based system that boots into Steam Gaming Mode, with Steam and Proton, Valve's compatibility layer for running Windows games on Linux, installed and tested.

The default configuration, at $4,395, pairs an AMD Ryzen 7 9700X with an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB, 32GB of DDR5-6000 RGB memory and a 2TB NVMe drive in a panoramic tempered-glass case with three ARGB (addressable RGB) fans and a 360mm liquid cooler. Options include Ryzen X3D processors up to the 16-core 9950X3D2, GeForce RTX 5070, 5070 Ti and 5080 graphics, up to four game controllers, and a capture card and microphone for streaming.

Bazzite is the default because Valve supports SteamOS only on its own hardware and the Lenovo Legion Go S; on desktop PCs, Valve lists AMD graphics as beta and does not support NVIDIA. SteamOS remains an option on Radeon builds, as does Ubuntu with Steam.

Some game publishers still keep Linux players out through their anti-cheat software: the community list at areweanticheatyet.com shows Valorant and Fortnite as denied and recent Call of Duty titles as broken. eRacks steers players toward the studios that support Linux, and for customers who want one of the blocked games anyway, sets up Windows dual boot on request.

Graphics prices shaped the default. eRacks priced the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti at $799 at Newegg in October 2025; on October 15, 2026 the lowest new, in-stock offer there was $1,169.99, while the Radeon RX 9070 XT was $879.99.

"We wanted a proper desktop gaming model with all the bells and whistles: the colors, the lights, the clear panels, and Steam," said Joseph Wolff, founder and CTO of eRacks.

eRacks has also published a vendor-neutral Linux gaming PC guide covering Proton, anti-cheat, SteamOS and graphics drivers: https://eracks.com/guides/linux-gaming-pc/
