SBT offers ways for educators to practice self-care and bring social-emotional learning to the classroom.
SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Californer -- Stop, Breathe & Think is offering all educators around the world a free lifetime subscription to its app to support social-emotional learning in the classroom and address increasing distractions, mounting pressure, and growing mental health issues.
In 2019, Stop, Breathe & Think reached 25K teachers and over 8,000 schools. 96% of teachers surveyed think SBT is an effective and accessible tool for the classroom to incorporate mindfulness in an easy way.
"It can be difficult achieving buy-in from a large body of students. I have been able to reach 100+ students per day and lead SEL discussions around the topics that are covered in the meditations," Katie Aldama, a school counselor in the Irvine Unified School District says.
The mindfulness curriculum grew out of two decades of work with at-risk youth via its partner non-profit, Tools for Peace. Stop, Breathe & Think also collaborated with Susan Kaiser Greenland, and a distinguished Scientific Advisory Board that includes Sue Smalley, Ph.D., founder of UCLA's Mindful Awareness Research Center; Nicholas Schork, Ph.D., world-renowned researcher at the City of Hope National Medical Center affiliate The Translational Genomics Research Institute; Phillippe Goldin, Ph.D., UC Davis Cognitive Behavioral Therapist & Cofounder of Google Search Inside Yourself.
