Honoring the Legacy of Lance "Bo" Chavez and Raising Awareness for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention
CARSON, Calif. - Californer -- The Live Aloha Foundation is excited to announce the inaugural Bases for Bo Baseball Tournament, a special event honoring the legacy of Lance "Bo" Chavez, a proud Hawaiian, USMC veteran, and passionate baseball enthusiast. This tournament will take place August 16-18, 2024, at Ivan Miller Field in Playa del Rey, CA, featuring talented 15U boys from across Southern California to celebrate the spirit of the game that Bo cherished.
Lance "Bo" Chavez was not only a dedicated serviceman but also a mentor to countless young athletes, instilling in them the values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. The Bases for Bo Tournament aims to continue his mission by fostering youth engagement and creating an enriching environment where young players can showcase their skills and love for baseball.

In addition to the thrilling competition, the Live Aloha Foundation will present four scholarships to deserving young athletes during the tournament. These scholarships are designed to support the educational and athletic pursuits of young individuals who embody Bo's spirit and commitment to excellence.
"We are excited to honor Bo's legacy through this tournament, which emphasizes the importance of community, youth development, and the love for baseball," said Terrie Chavez, Bo's mom. "This event is a celebration of Bo's life and a platform to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention."
The Bases for Bo Baseball Tournament promises to be a memorable weekend filled with exhilarating games, silent auction, and opportunities for youth to connect with one another. We warmly invite families, friends, and community members to join us in this celebration of Bo's legacy and the game of baseball. Together, we will honor his memory, raise awareness and invest in the future of our youth.
