FOLSOM, Calif. - Californer -- Jon Robert Quinn, a California-based guitarist and longtime figure in the independent music scene, is performing weekly at Gaslight Co.'s open mic night every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in Folsom. The event brings together musicians, performers, and members of the local business community for live music, conversation, and informal networking in a community-driven setting.
Quinn's appearances are part of a rotating open mic format, where established and emerging musicians share the stage each week. His performances feature instrumental guitar work drawn from more than 30 years of experience as a working musician.
Over the course of his career, Quinn has developed a presence within California's independent music scene through live performance, recording projects, and in-store showcases at Tower Records locations across Northern California. In 2004, while performing and promoting his independent releases Solo-Fisticated and One Long Road, Quinn met guitarist Joe Satriani at Tower Records in Concord, California—an early intersection within the region's guitar community that reflected his active involvement in the local music circuit.

His performance background also includes live work with musician Buddy Emmer at Caesars Lake Tahoe, adding to his experience performing in established entertainment venues.
Quinn's career has also included select industry-facing opportunities, including participation in a 2013 audition for Universal Music Group at the Hard Rock Cafe in San Francisco, reflecting his engagement with major label pathways during that period of his career.
He also recalls earlier conversations connected to Prince's management during a period when Prince was actively performing in Oakland, California. The interaction occurred prior to Prince's passing in 2016 and remains one of several notable industry touchpoints throughout Quinn's career.
In 2018, Quinn met Satriani again in Los Angeles during an event that also included guitarist John Petrucci and Phil Collen. The encounter reinforced Quinn's ongoing presence within professional guitar circles and his continued work as a performing musician.
Today, Quinn continues to perform weekly at Gaslight Co.'s open mic night, where live music serves as the foundation for a broader networking and community experience. His sets blend instrumental guitar performance with conversation and connection, aligning with his ongoing work through Impact & Influence Magazine and the Awepra platform.
