LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18, 2024 ~ Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization iACT is gearing up to celebrate its 15th anniversary this year. The organization, which works alongside conflict-affected communities, will be hosting its annual event on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
Last year's event was a huge success, raising over $100,000. This amount enabled iACT to continue supporting the social and emotional development of more than 13,000 children affected by conflict in six different countries. Led by refugee and conflict-affected team members, iACT's programs have expanded to reach even more children and families in places like Mexico, the Central African Republic, and Chad. The organization has also strengthened its focus on gender equity and integrated arts and music into its programs.
Executive Director Sara-Christine Dallain expressed her hopes for this year's event, stating that she wants it to serve as a reminder to the local South Bay community of their contributions towards making iACT a global leader in humanitarian action. She also hopes that attendees will leave the event feeling the impact they have made.
The legacy of iACT's founders, Gabriel Stauring and Katie-Jay Scott, continues to live on through the organization's various programs such as Little Ripples preschool program and Refugees United Soccer Academy. Additionally, over 250 conflict-affected men and women are employed as teachers and coaches in their communities through iACT's programs.
