Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach Economic Development Department has announced a partnership with the United States Probation and Pretrial Services Office to host a free career fair for individuals seeking to reenter the workforce or start a new career. The event, titled "New Horizons: A Career Fair for Second Chances," will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network Adult Career Services Center located at 4811 Airport Plaza Dr.
The purpose of this career fair is to provide opportunities for those with justice-involved backgrounds to explore meaningful pathways to employment and access supportive services. Attendees will have the chance to learn about mental health resources, healthcare options, housing assistance, and other services that can aid in their journey towards successful reintegration into society.

While the focus of the job fair will be on resources for individuals who have been formerly incarcerated, the event is open to the public and anyone interested in attending is encouraged to RSVP online.
A variety of employers and organizations will be participating in the career fair, including International Paper, Long Beach City College Justice Scholars Program, ReIGNITE Hope Welder Training, ROADS Community Clinics, SMART Local 105 (Sheet Metal Workers), U.A. Local 709 Sprinkler Fitters Union, Western States Regional Council of Carpenters and Women In Non-Traditional Employment Roles.
