Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach is gearing up for a day of community connection and artistic expression with the upcoming Community Values Art, Art Values Community event. In partnership with the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine, the Office of Climate Action & Sustainability will be hosting this free event on Saturday, November 8th at the Museum of Latin American Art.

The event, which is part of the City's Neighbor-to-Neighbor program, aims to bring together members of the community for a day filled with interactive art and live music. From 2 to 8 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to explore exhibits at the Museum of Latin American Art for free and enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities.

Mayor Rex Richardson expressed his excitement for the event, stating that Long Beach has a rich history in arts and culture and is committed to making it more accessible to the community. He believes that this Neighbor-to-Neighbor event will not only provide free access to the beloved museum but also foster connections between neighbors and inspire more opportunities for artists to collaborate in Long Beach.

The festival will feature a range of interactive art exhibits and activities such as dance performances, puppeteering shows, zine-making workshops, and design-your-own tote bag crafts. Attendees can also look forward to a full schedule of live music and DJ performances by artists such as DJ Kantuta, Juanita and Juan, 3LH, and more.

In addition to these offerings, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine will be hosting their Mobile Recess program at Gumbiner Park from 2 to 5 p.m. This program brings trucks loaded with recreational supplies and equipment to designated neighborhood streets for families to enjoy.

Registration is required for this event and can be done online at lbcity.info/n2n or in-person at the event itself. The Neighbor-to-Neighbor program is funded by California Volunteers' Office of the Governor network and is led by the City's Office of Climate Action and Sustainability. Its mission is to foster connection and build communities that come together to address local needs, including climate action.
