Diversity Strategist Peter Linkow Demonstrates How to Turn the Quest for Institutional Equity and Justice into a Competitive Advantage
WELLESLEY, Mass. - Californer -- Despite investing billions of dollars in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), progress for the world's institutions has been scant and may be regressing. Diversity Strategist Peter Linkow demonstrates how to turn the quest for institutional equity and justice into a competitive advantage with his latest release, Leading Diversity for Competitive Advantage.
Linkow points to three primary causes for this interminably slow progress: a lack of scientific evidence underpinning the actions that organizations are taking to address DEI; the tactical, one-size-fits-all best practices that make up most diversity action plans; and how ill-prepared leaders are to helm diversity initiatives. In his new book, Leading Diversity for Competitive Advantage: The Twelve Strategic Competencies, Linkow provides the strategic, evidence-based knowledge, models, methods, and tools that leaders need to turn intention into successful implementation.

Linkow notes, "I've spent my life studying organizations and consulting on business and diversity strategy, analyzing volumes of workforce data. My conclusion: women, people of color, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQ+ community will be playing catchup for far too many years to come. And organizations are paying the price in their ability to compete for talent and customers and clients."
Linkow's insights are the culmination of decades of research and practice advising top leaders. His insights are being recognized by senior executives and diversity leaders.
Ted Childs, the former VP for Global Workforce Diversity at IBM, emphasizes, "This book is not to tell you what or how to do. It is to prod you to look at yourself, leader or practitioner, assess your culture and situations, and determine how to work together to ensure the culture, those situations, and business performance will be better years after your departure."
Mike Markovits, a leading consultant and former HR executive at GE, notes that it is a "down-to-earth, easy-to-read, and practical handbook not only on how to think about diversity but how to take steps, both within oneself and one's organization, to make significant progress towards an equitable society."
