New Comparison Helps Senior Travelers Weigh Overseas Adventure Travel Against Road Scholar

LOS ANGELES - Californer -- With more seniors looking for meaningful travel experiences without spending more than necessary, a new comparison from the Thrifty Senior Traveler examines two of the best-known companies serving mature travelers: Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT) and Road Scholar.

The comparison, published on the Thrifty Senior Traveler website, looks at the advantages and disadvantages of each company and highlights several factors that travelers may want to consider before booking their next adventure.

"Both companies are leading providers of excellent tours for seniors," explains Jesse Slome, creator of the Thrifty Senior Traveler. "I've taken 19 different trips with OAT, and I have good friends who regularly travel with Road Scholar. I think both deserve consideration, but there are differences that can make one a better choice for a particular traveler."

According to Slome, the comparison goes beyond the basic question of where each company travels. It examines issues including trip style, solo travel opportunities, educational and cultural experiences, and potential savings for repeat travelers.

"One factor that can easily be overlooked is what happens after you take your first trip," Slome says. "OAT provides a Frequent Traveler Credit that can be applied toward the cost of another trip. For someone who travels frequently, a credit based on the trip price can become a significant savings."
