Most Recent Statistics for North America (USA, Canada, Mexico)

MARIPOSA, Calif. - May 26, 2019 - Californer -- From research on a recent question about the area of greenhouse tomatoes produced in North America, published figures have been found. One limiting factor when comparing individual country data has to do with the definition of "greenhouse". In Mexico, this is primarily in "protected cultivation", which includes not only greenhouses but mostly shade structures. The definitions in the USA include greenhouses, but also other "protected cultivation" areas. Canadian statistics also use "greenhouse" to include several types of under-cover production.
