After her family came to America from Italy she entered into The Sisters of Charity in Cincinnati, OH who sent her on a mission to Trinidad but she is surprised to discover it is not the island she anticipated but a town in the Rocky Mountains. In her efforts to help children and the needy she meets many characters of the Southwest including multiple encounters with the outlaw Billy the Kid.
