Pirate Adventure Meets Dark Fantasy in Independent Web Series "Captain von Miau"
The Californer/10362011

LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Captain von Miau an independent adventure web series that brings together pirate lore and dark fantasy. At its center is Captain Hector von Miau, a hot-tempered pirate cat searching for the uncle who raised him—a person he had believed to be dead.

The possibility that his uncle is alive sets Hector on a dangerous voyage and draws him into a complicated mystery. His journey involves a cursed map, violent storms, sword fights, and buried secrets, with an unlikely crew of humans and anthropomorphic animals joining the expedition.

The project uses a combination of hand-drawn artwork and generative AI tools. Its story and characters were developed by a human author. The trailer, character materials, and original music introduce audiences to the project ahead of its full episodes, which have not yet been released.

A Personal Search and an Unlikely Crew

Hector is searching for more than a missing relative. His uncle raised him, making the possibility of finding him a deeply personal reason to undertake the voyage. For a captain who distrusts others, that search also means accepting the risks of working with a crew.

The expedition gathers characters with different backgrounds, personalities, and reasons for coming aboard. Their ability to cooperate will be as important as their abilities at sea, and there is no guarantee that everyone will return alive.
