SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo released this statement following the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) approval of Santa Clara County's variance attestation.

"I am grateful to Governor Newsom, Health and Human Services Secretary Mark Ghaly and their teams for their continued partnership in granting Santa Clara County's variance application. The state's rapid response will save thousands of jobs and hundreds of businesses at risk of permanently closing during this unprecedented health and economic crisis. This variance will allow more families to support themselves while businesses comply with strict safety guidelines--saving livelihoods and lives."
