INTENT TO ADOPT A NEGATIVE DECLARATION

Project Name: 7246 Sharon Drive GPA & Conforming Rezoning Project
File No.: GP21-004 and C21-009
Description: General Plan Amendment and Conforming Rezoning to change the General Plan designation from Neighborhood/Community Commercial to Mixed-Use Neighborhood, and the zoning from CP Commercial Pedestrian District to MUN Mixed-Use Neighborhood District. There is no specific development project proposed, however it is anticipated that future development would result in of ten mixed-use townhouse residential units.
Location: The 0.56-acre project site is located at 7246 Sharon Drive, east of South de Anza Boulevard in the City of San José.

The City has performed an environmental review of the project. The environmental review examines the nature and extent of any adverse effects on the environment that could occur if the project is approved and implemented. Based on the review, the City has prepared a Draft Negative Declaration (ND) for this project. An ND is a statement by the City that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment. The project site is not present on any list pursuant to Section 65962.5 of the California Government Code.

The public is welcome to review and comment on the Draft ND. The public comment period for this Draft ND begins on Tuesday November 9, 2021 and ends on Monday November 29, 2021. The Draft ND, Initial Study, and reference documents are available online at: www.sanjoseca.gov/negativedeclarations
The documents are also available for review with an appointment during normal business hours at the City of San Jose Department of Planning, Building and Code Enforcement, located at City Hall, 200 East Santa Clara Street; or during normal business hours at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Main Library, located at 150 E. San Fernando Street; and the Calabazas Branch Library located at 1230 South Blaney.
