Long Beach, CA ~ The City of Long Beach and the Office of First District Councilwoman Mary Zendejas are proud to present the eighth annual Día de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, Celebration. This free, family-friendly event is a celebration of life in remembrance of loved ones who have passed away.
Mayor Rex Richardson said, "Our Día de Los Muertos Celebration is a time-honored tradition of family and culture. We invite everyone out to our Downtown to enjoy this year's festivities."
The Día de los Muertos Parade will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., beginning at the intersection of Pine Avenue and East Third Street and traveling down Pine Avenue to East Shoreline Drive. The parade will feature grand marshals (to be announced in the coming weeks), a variety of culturally rich performances and floats, and participation from various City departments and community partners, among other elements. It will also stream live on ABC7 Los Angeles' digital channel followed by an on-air broadcast on ABC7 Los Angeles Sunday, Nov. 5 at 10:30 a.m.

The parade will culminate at Rainbow Lagoon with the Arte y Ofrendas Festival from noon to 10 p.m., featuring arts and crafts, music and entertainment, food and beverage offerings, and more for families to enjoy together. Councilwoman Mary Zendejas said "Long Beach's annual Día de Los Muertos Grande Parade is back honoring a celebrated tradition of life, family and Latinx culture."
Día de Los Muertos is deeply rooted in the traditions and cultures of Mexico and Latin America; it is an opportunity for all members of the community to come together for this grand celebration in Downtown Long Beach.
