LOS ANGELES - Californer -- The Summer Froyo Flavors Contest, sponsored by the International Frozen Yogurt Association, invited froyo fans to share their summer froyo flavor ideas. Flavors were judged based on creativity and how well they captured the spirit of summer. The winning flavor, Watermelon Coconut, was submitted on Instagram by alyssa._.711.
The contest launched on July 7. Entries were accepted on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and via email. The winner will receive a home delivery of four pints of Jeni's froyo.
"Froyo fans definitely impressed us with their creativity. We received many unique summer froyo flavor ideas. Congratulations to our winner! Watermelon Coconut froyo is a creative flavor that sounds light and refreshing. Watermelon is also in season. While coconuts are available year-round, they are associated with tropical islands, hot weather, and summer vacation getaways," said Susan Linton, President of the International Frozen Yogurt Association. "The runner up was Strawberry Agua Fresca, submitted by xtracetracex."
