During Farm Day, more than 15 Ventura County farms and agricultural businesses open their doors and invite the public to learn how their food is grown.
VENTURA, Calif. - Californer -- The 12th annual Ventura Farm Day, Saturday, November 2, seeks sponsors. During Farm Day, more than 15 Ventura County farms and agricultural businesses open their doors and invite the public to learn how their food is grown.
"Since Farm Day began, over 50,000 people have attended Ventura County Farm Day," says Caitlin Paulus-Case, executive director of Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture (SEEAG), the 501(c)3 nonprofit that organizes Farm Day. "As a sponsor, it's an opportunity to help the public get a better understanding of what goes into growing the fruits and vegetables we eat and to appreciate the men and women who work hard to make it happen. Farm Day offers free tours, tastings and hands-on activities for all ages."
Ventura County Farm Day sponsors include Driscolls, Gene Haas Foundation, Wood Claeyssens Foundation, Church Brothers, Mission Produce, County of Ventura Agricultural Weights & Measures and AgWestFarm Credit.
