Adeia to Address the Role of Research in Gaming at the 2024 XP Game Summit

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Californer -- Adeia Inc., a leading research and development (R&D) and intellectual property licensing company known for bringing innovations in the media technology and semiconductor sectors to market, announced that Dr. Aldis Sipolins, senior manager of advanced R&D at Adeia, will participate in a panel about the role of research in gaming innovation on Thursday, June 13, from 12:40 to 1:40 pm EDT during the 2024 XP Game Summit. The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Toronto from June 13-14, 2024.

Dr. Sipolins will be joined by Julien Coll, general co-director for operation at CDRIN and Vinay Pandit, senior member of technical staff for AMD in a panel session titled, "Unleashing Potential: The Pivotal Role of R&D in Gaming Innovation". The discussion will center on how artificial intelligence (AI), game development tools and human research intersect to create next-generation gaming experiences.

"Emerging technologies such as AI and augmented reality have the potential to enhance and transform the consumer experience across a number of industries, including gaming and entertainment," said Serhad Doken, chief technology officer, Adeia. "The application of large language models in non-playable characters in games, for example, can provide more dynamic and realistic dialogue, enhancing the user experience. Augmented reality can also create more immersive and interactive environments by extending gameplay beyond the TV to the living room. As technologies advance, consumers will likely come to expect greater personalization as well as highly immersive and interactive gaming experiences across different platforms."
