IXO Music set to launch the fourth single from Anjalts' upcoming album, featuring a raw track that almost did not get recorded
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- There are few songs that emanate a light far and in between—the words not spoken, the quiet, tranquil reflections aloud on a dark, rainy night with specks of stars above. Some grief doesn't announce itself; it accumulates in silence, in the hours no one witnesses. On June 12, 2026, musician/producer Anjalts returns with IXO Music for the release of her latest single, "Crying in the Dark," a pop-rock ballad that moves like a storm settling into stillness.
Written, produced, and performed entirely by Anjalts, the track navigates the disorienting emotional terrain between holding on and letting go. Sonically, it's nostalgic, with strong melodic brilliance of bands like Journey, the visceral vulnerability of Paramore, and the atmospheric gravity of Within Temptation—building not toward a neat resolution, but toward the kind of release that only absolute honesty can bring.

Lyrically, the song uses rain and distance as physical manifestations of absence, moving from a desperate search to a heavy realization.
"Where are you? I've lost you again inside the rain..." the opening lines search rather than demand, grounding the expansive instrumentation in a devastatingly personal reality:
"Your broken heart / Just felt like Lead / You had to go / You left so suddenly."
The recording session itself became an inseparable part of the song's story—intentionally leaving the human element exposed and unpolished, unlike standard industry expectations. The construct of grief from a human element is far and in between what was said and what could only be felt:
"This was one of the hardest sessions to mix for Anjalts," explains Acen Sinclair, the IXO Studio engineer behind the recording. "She kept crying while singing the song—we would stop and retake the vocals where we left off." If you listen on headphones closely, you'll most likely hear those tearful vocal takes where she just kept going. She said, "This was one song she can only sing once."

Those tears didn't get edited out; they stayed. The final master honors the weight of a singular, fragile performance, transforming "Crying in the Dark" into something the listener doesn't just hear but carries with them.
"Crying in the Dark" will be available on all major streaming platforms June 12, 2026.
