SAN FRANCISCO - Californer -- Local artist, Nicole Hanusek, is thrilled to announce the opening of her home studio for the first time during ArtSpan's SF Open Studios (SFOS) event. The public is invited to experience her vibrant artwork up close during Weekend 2 on Saturday and Sunday, September 28-29, from 11 AM to 5 PM at 219 Hartford Street in the Castro.
Hanusek, who has previously participated in group shows, is stepping into a solo spotlight with this event. "I'm extremely excited to open my art studio from home for the first time," said Hanusek. "Come on up to the terrace for some snacks, beverages, and art."
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Hanusek's whimsical creations, which draw inspiration from children's books, comics, and fantasy. Her work is known for its vivid colors and playful depictions of sea creatures and animals, designed to evoke feelings of joy and nostalgia.
You'll find sparkly octopuses, abstract octopuses, colorful dogs, colorful animals, animal butts, San Francisco paintings, original Lazy Bear line drawings, and more. Most of the work is painted in acrylic or watercolor; original paintings, prints, and postcards are available.

She believes in the transformative power of beauty, citing research that links aesthetically pleasing surroundings to improved well-being.
