At 70 years young, Dr. Kern wanted to box to stay in shape but not able to find a book that explained the fundamentals. He met Coach Dean, "if you teach me how to box I will help you write a boxing book." Eugene B. Kern, MD
"Doc" Kern was a major in the US Air Force, trained at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota as a surgeon and Professor of Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery for 33 years. Currently teaching Nasal, Sinus and Facial Surgery at University at Buffalo, Dr. Kern is a respected educator, contributed greatly to the understanding of rhinologic diseases and a recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Mayo Clinic.
