SAN FRANCISCO - Californer -- SCHOOL CHOICE IS FOR ALL!
The Educational Freedom Act - A Choice for Every Child, Without Discrimination...
Our mission is simple; Provide the opportunity, for every K-12 student in California, to choose a quality education and environment in which they can thrive - whether it's public, private, magnet, charter, micro, or homeschool.
One size does not fit all. Alternative workplace environments create more productive individuals and improve employee retention. Education Choice also acknowledges students as people with specific interests and aptitudes. It is this acknowledgment that engages students in their future, empowering children with rewarding results:
*More children graduate
*More children seek vocational training and higher education
*More children avoid lives of addiction, crime, and homelessness
More on The Californer
THE DETAILS:
*Only Prop 98 funding will be used, leaving all other funding for public schools right where it is.
*The California State Legislative Analyst's Office agrees: Zero Cost & Public Schools will BENEFIT!
*$14,000 per year Education Savings Account (ESA) follows the child to any school they choose; private, magnet, charter, micro, or even homeschool.
*Any unused amount is saved until the child has a need for education funding, until age 30.
*Choice is immediately available to ANY K-12 child in California. Simply 'opt-in.'
THE FACTS:
*School Choice is NON-PARTISAN.
*There are 6 million K-12 children in California and ALL are immediately eligible.
*School Choice increases the number of special needs education options.
*School Choice improves access for minority children and ESL students.
*To have School Choice, we must include state-accredited schools that are in STEM settings, Performing Arts settings, Medical Settings, Religion-based settings, Home settings, Vocational settings, and more.
