LOS ANGELES - Californer -- I'm Earl Ofari Hutchinson, President of the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable. I'm standing now in front of Google. Google, the number one search engine for many years on the web. In front of their headquarters in Venice. What does it say? Boycott Google.
Hutchinson announced, "The LA Urban Policy Roundtable launched a boycott Google campaign. The reason is very simple. Google caved to Trump and the anti-DEI crowd. Google announced recently this. In fact, in many ways, it's even more insulting than all the other corporations that are caving the Trump and essentially dropping their DEI diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. "
Hutchinson notes, "Google tells employees why it's ending DEI hiring goals. But this is what is revealing in this. The company says it's carefully evaluating other DEI initiatives that raise risk. The operative word is raise risk. Now, Google, they take it to a whole another level. That DEI is not only just something that we're going to have to dial back, scale down, but it's actually risk involved. "

Hutchinson admonishes, "You don't have to use them. You don't have to be chained to them. You don't have to be tied down to them.
There are alternatives, "Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuck, Perplexity, Yandix, Ecosia, StartPage, Search, brave Search, Swiss Cows, Nye, and especially Bing and Yahoo, they are very well commonly placed and very well used. Don't use Google."
Again, the LA Urban Policy Roundtable and many other organizations, we certainly hope, will join in in our international call for a boycott of Google. Think about it. I'm Earl Ofari Hutchinson.
