American Slaves, Inc. (ASI), founded by Dr. Norris Shelton and led by Prime Minister Dr. Gerald A. Higginbotham, is reaffirming the unique identity of the American Slave Nation—lineal descendants of slaves bred in the United States
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- American Slaves, Inc. (ASI), the pioneering institution founded by Dr. Norris Shelton and led today by Prime Minister Dr. Gerald A. Higginbotham, has issued a public clarification affirming the distinct cultural and legal identity of the American Slave Nation. In contrast to broader identity terms such as 'Black' or 'African American,' ASI emphasizes the lineage-based identity of American Slaves—those who descend from slaves bred in the United States of America.
To coincide with this message, ASI is launching *The Wait is Over*, an educational podcast series beginning on Memorial Day 2025. The series aims to further distinguish the American Slave Nation identity from broader racial categories and reclaim the narrative around reparative justice.
The distinction is not just cultural—it is historical, legal, and essential to framing the reparative justice movement correctly. American Slaves, Inc. predates and informs more recent offshoots like ADOS (American Descendants of Slavery) and FBA (Foundational Black Americans), having published over 26 foundational books and proposed legislative pathways toward restitution and recognition.

"Credit matters. Healing begins with truth," said Dr. Higginbotham. "Recognizing American Slaves, Inc. as the originator of this national conversation is essential for justice."
American Slaves, Inc. continues to lead educational, cultural, and economic initiatives nationwide, including America250 programming and the American Slave Business Incubator, as described in Dr. Shelton's Renaissance Plan. These programs aim to empower American Slaves through a clear understanding of identity, history, and purpose as we approach July 3 2026 as the 25th Anniversary of American Slave Inc and July 4 2026 as the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America.
The public is encouraged to tune into *The Wait is Over* podcast series and join the movement here: https://slaves-usa.com/books/american-slaves-inc-membership/
