Buddy Greenbloom, the gothic cowboy, is set to release a new single titled 'Tent City' on July 4th, 2022.
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Californer -- Buddy Greenbloom's new hit single 'Tent City,' will drop in stores on Monday, July 4th, 2022 in honor of Independence Day. Greenbloom's western-style waltz follows the Hispanic storytelling tradition of corridos and holds no punches in its criticism of the now-defunct prison camp in Phoenix, Arizona. As he rambles through the various accusations leveled against prisoners, we're reminded by Greenbloom, "They are penned like beasts, where nothings discrete. While we enjoy feasts, they have little to eat." Unraveling a tale of simple folks arrested for petty crimes, but enduring what Sheriff Joe Arpaio himself described as a 'concentration camp.'
Buddy Greenbloom grew up in Houston, Texas. Buddy watched country legends perform at small honky-tonks and rodeo events. As he grew older Buddy competed in choral competitions in Brenham, Texas, and later learned to play guitar in Phoenix, Arizona. Buddy Greenbloom's baritone voice and rambling guitar bring to mind Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, and Lou Reed, a sound complementing the emerging new wave of honky tonk revival and Americana acts. What emerges is something between Sanford Clark and Faron Young, singing a medley of punk rock covers and classic country.
